Rock · $1/$2 live

The rock who calls your c-bet on the flop has something. He's not floating. Slow down on the turn unless you improved.

Pool read #24 · Turn aggression · Hand reading by player type

Why they do it

Rocks don't make moves. If he called your c-bet it's because he has top pair, a strong draw, or better. He's not giving you a chance to barrel him off anything - he actually has a hand.

The adjustment

Check the turn back with one-pair hands when the rock calls the flop. Give him credit and get out cheap. You're not folding him out.

What it's worth

Firing a second barrel into a rock who called the flop and then folding the river anyway costs you an extra $40-60 for no reason. Save it.
