Recreational · The Winner Going Home · $1/$2 live

The rec who announces he's leaving in a few hands and is stacking his chips is done playing real poker. He's just waiting to go. He'll fold almost everything.

Pool read #70 · Table dynamics · Exploiting checked-out players

Why they do it

Players who are mentally checked out and heading for the door have already moved on. They're not trying to win more money - they're trying to leave without losing what they have. They fold more, call less, and basically stop playing poker.

The adjustment

Steal their blinds. Apply pressure in pots they're involved in. They're folding their way to the exit and you should be the one collecting.

What it's worth

Two or three stolen pots from a player who's mentally already in the parking lot is easy money. Don't miss the window - it closes when they rack up and leave.
