Mixed Table Read · $2/$5 live
When a $2/$5 pot goes four ways to the flop, the preflop raiser has no automatic c-bet. Check and evaluate. Someone hit this board.
Why they do it
Multi-way pots at $2/$5 are not c-bet spots by default. Four players seeing a flop means at least one of them connected. Your fold equity dropped significantly the moment it went multi-way. Firing a c-bet into four players with air is not aggression - it's donation.
The adjustment
Check multi-way flops without a strong hand. Wait for the field to act and re-evaluate. With a strong hand, bet for value. Without one, take the free card and see what develops.
What it's worth
Skipping c-bets in four-way pots where you whiffed saves $40-60 per occurrence in chips you were never getting back anyway. Use the free card.
