Tight Reg · $2/$5 live
The $2/$5 tight reg who 3-bets from late position after a player has already called a raise is making a value play, not a squeeze bluff. His range is strong.
Why they do it
$2/$5 tight regs don't squeeze light. The squeeze bluff requires confidence in your ability to balance and get folds from both players. This player type doesn't trust that - they squeeze with value hands and let the math work. When they do it, they have QQ+, AK, and occasionally JJ.
The adjustment
Fold most hands. Call only with premiums that play well in a 3-bet pot. Don't try to call off the squeeze with AJo hoping to outplay him postflop.
What it's worth
Flatting a $2/$5 tight reg's squeeze with AJo and losing a 3-bet pot out of position is a consistent money-loser. Fold it. Save the money for a better spot.
