Maniacs have cycles. They go hot, they cool off, they go hot again. When a maniac suddenly goes quiet for several hands, players keep treating him like he's still in maniac mode. He's not. Pay attention to the reset.

The adjustment

Give his next raise real credit. Don't automatically call him down because of his prior image. The image is stale. He just changed gears.
